Earrann was our quarterly 12-page newspaper that finished publication in spring 2008. The newspaper was founded in 1999 with a single page (printed on both sides!). There was a gap in 2004 as the editorial team went walkabout but we managed 27 editions. Content was always a struggle in such a small place so we are going to make more use of the website for sharing information. Earrann was a member of the Stirling Community Newspaper Forum which provides training and moral support for over 30 community newspapers in the Stirling area.

The Community Newspaper
Local enterprise
Farming is the main business in Arnprior and the local garage services and repairs agricultural vehicles and equipment.

Tourism is important for the Stirling economy and there is accommodation in and around the area which caters for visitors. There are a few local websites
Thorntree Barn
Cardross Estate
Fordhead Farm
Dykehead House cottages
Faraway Country House
and you will find more information for the wider area at  visitscotland

Surprisingly there is an established firm of furniture retailers on the main road in the village – Steven Burgess - the website alone is worth a visit

Small businesses are often run from home and proprietors can make use of this page or the community newspaper to reach out to potential customers.
Autumn 2007
As a parting shot, Earrann won the Best Use of Photography category in the Community Newspaper of the Year Awards for 2007.

About
Spring 2008
Some of the articles related to the social history and heritage of Arnprior. A small selection of these are available from the links below. This page will be developed over the coming months to build up a small record centre.
Earrann articles
A nature watch sumary will be added to this page. If you have any sightings to record then contact the ACC secretary who will add them to the list. Birds, butterflies, beetles and wildcats!
Arnprior is great for pictures as has been proved over the decades but there must be loads more lurking in albums and attics. The Arnpics page is our developing local archive.  All contributions welcome.
